SOUL WINNER TURN CELEBERITY-JOSEPH OSCAR METTLE Joe Mettle, the well-known Ghanaian gospel musician, had his basic education at the Richard Akwei Memorial School, Kade 1&2 Primary School, St. Michaels and All Angels School, and Gonno 3 Junior High School (JHS). He had his secondary education at Accra Academy before moving on to pursue a degree at the Pentecost University College. He started out as a backing vocalist for some Ghanaian great gospel musicians including Cindy Thompson, the late Danny Nettey, and Reverend Tom Bright Davies. As a passionate worship leader, Joe Mettle was the lead singer for “Soul Winners”, another popular gospel music group. Aside music, he formed the Joe Mettle Ministries in 2007 which headlines two shows annually namely The Ministry Praiz Reloaded and Love Gift. He is also the manager at Reverb Studios, which has a rehearsal and recording studio as well as offering musical equipment rentals.
The company which is located in Accra also music and marketing consultancy services. Some of his hit songs including Turning Around, Owanwani, Yesu Adi Nkunim, My Everything, Bo Noo Ni. He received the Best Male Gospel Artiste in Africa at the Trumpet Gospel Awards held in South Africa after featuring on Gospel Classics, a South African based gospel television show. He has further swept the Artiste of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, and the Male Vocalist Artiste of the Year awards at the 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA); the first gospel artiste to win in this category since the inception of the awards scheme. He has won several other awards at Africa Gospel Music Awards, African Gospel Awards (UK), Gospel industry Awards, CCML Ghana Gospel Awards, as well as the South African based RIGA Awards.
