Jane Fara Yahaya Awindor Fauzzier - Efya

Jane Awindor is a Ghanaian songstress better known for her stage name Efya. Jane was born in 1987 in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana and is the daughter of popular filmmaker and television host, Nana Adwoa Awindor who was the producer of a popular television program ‘Greetings From Abroad’.

Efya had her secondary education at the Yaa Asantewaa Secondary School in Kumasi from where she proceeded to the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) for a voice training course. She also holds a degree in theater and music from the University of Ghana. Efya was a participant of the maiden edition of talent show ‘Stars of the Future’ from where she got her exposure to the performing arts industry. She debuted onto the music scene with the mix tape T.I.N.T. which had songs like ‘Getaway’ and the hit track ‘Best In Me’.

In 2016, she releazed her album ‘Janesis’ to much acclaim. Efya was signed onto popular Nigerian musician Wizkid’s Starboy Entertainment label in 2016. Efya is a winner of the ‘Best Female Vocal Performance’ award in the Ghana Music Awards in four consecutive times beginning in 2011.
