Kwabena Kwabena is one of the few young musicians to take on the challenge of producing highlife music and succeed at it. The talented musician was already playing the guitar in church by the age of fourteen and the instrument has remained an indispensable part of his act since. In 2004, he had his first major hit, ‘Aso’ which endeared him to music lovers who were keen to hear a modern take on the traditional highlife music that is native to West Africa and Ghana in particular. Kwabena accepted the challenge and has since then managed to keep them interested with hit after hit and some riveting stage performances.
He also manages Save A Life Foundation, a philanthropic organization that raise funds through musical performances to assist the Cardiothoracic Centre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. He has also won several awards for his music and is one of Ghanaian music’ most bankable brand ambassadors.
