Philip is the Senior Partner and Co-founder of Addison Bright Sloane, a leading law firm in Ghana. He is famed for acting as the lead counsel for President Akufo Addo (then candidate Akufo Addo) in his challenge of the 2012 election results at the Supreme Court.
Philip had his secondary education at the Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast, after which he pursued an LL. B at the University of Ghana, Legon, earning his degree in 1986. He, like most Ghanaian lawyers, continued to the Ghana School of Law for his professional certificate. He has been practicing for over three decades now.
Philip has worked for several leading government and corporate institutions, including Precious Minerals Marketing Company Limited (PMMC), the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority, the International Development Corporation of South Africa and AngloGold Ashanti, among others. He was the chairman of a Ministerial team that reviewed Power Purchase Agreements in the energy sector of Ghana. He has also served as the Vice-President of the Greater Accra Branch of the Ghana Bar Association for a continuous period of five years.
