The Canadian born dazzling actress rose to fame after getting a slot to play a role in the television series Things we Do for Love. Jackie Appiah emerged in the entertainment industry for exceptional acting skills and played some of her early roles in other television series Tentacles, Sun City, Games People Play with Divine Love as her first major role in a movie.

Jackie has also featured in several TV commercials including a GSMF advert on protection against HIV AIDS, a commercial for U.B Hair Relaxer, and being the Face of IPMC featuring on their billboards nationwide. Some of her major honors include the Best International Actress Award at the Papyrus Magazine Screen Actors Awards (PAMSAA) 2013 in Abuja; Best Actress in Leading Role at the 6th Africa Movie Academy; Best Actress at the 2010 Ghana Movie Awards; Best Ghanaian Actress at the City People Entertainment Awards in 2010, Best Actress at the African Women Of Worth Awards held in 2012, among others. Jackie is known for a fashion sense and her love for travel and adventure, while updating her fans on her celebrity escapes on social media, especially on her Instagram account.

She is currently starring in YOLO, a Ghanaian television series, and sequel to Things We Do for Love; also a television series which she featured on in the early stages of her acting career. She got married to Peter Agyemang in 2005 and the couple had a son together but they are currently divorced. She has starred in several movies such as Fake Feelings, Wind of Love, Total Love, Passion of the Soul, Mortal Desire, Pretty Queen, The Prince's Bride, The King is Mine, Spirit of a Dancer
