Professor John S. Nabila is the Wulugu Naba and the Paramount Chief of the Wulugu Traditional Area in West Mamprusi district of the Northern Region of Ghana. He is one of the eminent traditional leaders in Ghana whose voice has been well-documented.
He was the President of the National House of Chiefs between 2008 and 2016, during which time he authored the book National House of Chiefs’ Code of Royal Ethics for Chiefs. In his private life, he is a geographer and an academic. He was until his enskinment a lecturer at the Geography and Resource Development Departement of the University of Ghana, Legon where he rose to become an Associate Professor and Head of Department.
He also served as the Head of the Population Impact Project, University of Ghana. With his able leadership, commitment to development, and as a development planner, Professor Nabila has succeeded in improving the livelihoods of thousands of his subjects. He is currently a Board Member of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation.
