Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the soft-spoken Minister of Information was born in Koforidua on April 5, 1982, to Kwame Oppong Nkrumah, a teacher turned banker and Felicia Oppong Nkrumah, a teacher.

He attended St. Bernadette Soubirous School at Dansoman and proceeded to the Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary in Koforidua. He pursued his tertiary education at the University of Cape Coast where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce.

Oppong Nkrumah also holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Ghana; a bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) from GIMPA Faculty of Law; and was called to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana in 2016.

He won the Ofoase-Ayirebi Constituency parliamentary seat in the 2016 general elections on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). In government he is Cabinet Spokesperson on the Economy while in Parliament he additionally serves as a member of the Finance and Constitutional committees.
