Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI is the traditional Head of Osu Paramountcy. Osu is one of the major towns in the Ga state as well as a commercial and social hub. Until 2009, the Osu Christianborg Castle was the seat of Ghana’s government. The town still hosts the bulk of the government’s administrative structure, including most of the ministries of state. This makes Osu and its paramountcy of extreme importance. In keeping with its stature, Nii Dowuona has sought to represent the best of Osu since his ascension to the royal throne. The trained banker had worked for over two decades with what is now Soceite General Ghana bank. Keenly aware of his role, he has pursued further education on the subject of leadership and chieftaincy most significantly a Degree in Chieftaincy Leadership.
In addition, Nii Dowuona is a graduate from the Cambridge University Intentional and holds a Certificate from African Transformational Leadership Institute, USA; Member of Pan African leadership Initiative Boston; and, Member of the African Chieftaincy Transformational Leadership institute Boston. The fruits of his extensive studies are showing an under his leadership the Osu Paramountcy has enjoyed the peace and unity needed for socio-economic development of the community. Nii Dowuona is acknowledged by his subjects as having changed for the better, the face of the traditional institution of chieftaincy at Osu while bringing tangible transformation and development to the Osu Traditional Area. Aside his duties as a traditional ruler, he is also a successful entrepreneur.
